⁵  But you say: 'If anyone will have said to father or mother, 'It is dedicated, so that whatever is from me will benefit you,'

⁶  then he shall not honor his father or his mother.' So have you nullified the commandment of God, for the sake of your tradition.

⁷  Hypocrites! How well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

⁸  'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

⁹  For in vain do they worship me, teaching the doctrines and commandments of men.'
